About Hummel Drum Co

Meet Kevin Hummel – Founder of Hummel Drum Co.Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Kevin Hummel turned a lifelong love of percussion into Hummel Drum Co, launched in North Plains in March 2025. What started as a high school dream with friend Matt Huntington became reality after years of tinkering, learning, and perfecting the craft of hand-building precision drums.Kevin’s musical journey began at age 3 on piano, but it was the energy of the drums that truly captured his heart. From school bands and DCI to leading college ensembles, Kevin has performed with groups like the Oregon Symphonic Band, Beaverton Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, Oregon Ballet Theatre, and even shared the stage with KANSAS and Keith Urban.Today, Kevin builds custom drums and restores vintage kits—bringing new life to old favorites and helping drummers find their perfect sound.
